Because of high demand, we have also embarked on layering free-range (kienyeji) chickens. What began as a broiler farm is now a full-service operation across the value chain.
Free-range birds command a premium and cost more to produce, mainly through feed, chicks and the space they need. Our chicks can go outdoors into natural sunlight and are not pushed to grow, so they follow a natural growth cycle — healthier birds that appeal to health-conscious consumers.
Our Kikuyu farm has four poultry houses with a capacity of 15,000 chickens each, run under strict quality control procedures.
Our grandparent operation, the first of its kind in Kenya, uses advanced rearing and breeding to produce one-day-old (ODO) parents for sale or for our in-house parent farms.
Our hatchery uses ready-to-hatch eggs to produce ODO broiler chicks for sale or internal supply. All eggs are Ministry of Agriculture certified and vaccinated on hatching.
We raise ODO broilers for sale in the market or for transfer to our own processing facilities, producing chilled and frozen chicken products.
